The shofar goes outside.

Second day of Rosh Hashanah, late afternoon. We take the horn out of the shul and into the open air, then walk to the water.

First

The shofar

One hundred blasts, sounded in the open. It takes a few minutes and it is the one thing the day actually asks of you. If you missed it in the morning, this counts.

Then

Tashlich

A short walk to the water and a few lines said at the edge of it, sending the past year downstream. No book needed, we bring them.
